Chavillon Lake

The Red Spire(2.548 m. a.s.l. – in french Aguille Rouge) is part of the Moncenisio Alps among the Cottian Alps. Is situated in the french department of Hautes Alps on the Italian border.

The mountain is located among Colle della Scala (Stair Col), Stretta Valley and Clarée Valley. Looking at it from the italian slope, it seems exclusively for experienced climbers, but there is an easy path climbing up from the french slope. The lake in the picture is the Chavillon Lake, among Col de Thures on the path to Red Peak.
